System Tasks

Two common tasks performed by the Web system (beside common tasks such as navigation) include "print friendly version" and  "e-mail this". A "print friendly version" is provided to users once they click on the icon. This is usually performed by a script that remove the navigation, advertisements and extraneous graphics. The user is then left with a version of the article or story that is easy to print because it contains the minimal amount of content. The user takes a more passive role in this situation and the system performs the function. The "email this" function provides users the ability to send an article or story to another person by filling out a form page with an email address and clicking send.

Below are several examples of  the print friendly version and  email this system tasks.
